Frequently asked questions
What is multi-camera video production?
Multi-camera production captures an event simultaneously from multiple angles — typically a wide locked stage shot, a tight speaker close-up, an audience-reaction camera, and one or more roving operator cameras. The footage is edited together post-event into a single cinematic deliverable, or in some cases switched live for streaming. The result is closer to broadcast television than single-camera event coverage.
When does an event need multi-camera coverage?
Panels, fireside chats, keynote programs with prominent speakers, livestreamed events, all-hands meetings with executive video archive needs, and any corporate event where the recorded program will be reused as standalone marketing content. Single-camera works for atmosphere and recap; multi-camera works when the speaker moments are the deliverable.
How many cameras do you typically run?
Three cameras is the standard configuration for most NYC panel and keynote programs — wide stage, tight speaker, and audience or roving. For larger programs we scale up to 4–5 cameras (jib, two-shot, multi-speaker tight angles, drone where applicable). For livestreamed events, we add a switching station and a director. Crew size is determined by the program complexity, not arbitrary tiers.
Do you handle livestream production as well as recorded?
Yes. We produce both recorded multi-camera shoots and live-switched programs for streaming to YouTube, LinkedIn Live, Vimeo, internal corporate platforms, and standard streaming infrastructure. Our team includes director-level operators familiar with TriCaster, ATEM, and the standard switching toolchain.
What kinds of NYC events do you most commonly multi-cam?
Conferences and summits (multi-track sessions, simultaneous keynote and breakout), corporate all-hands and town halls, fireside chats with named speakers, panel programs, awards ceremonies and recognition programs, brand activations with stage components, and hybrid in-person + streaming events. The Javits Center, Apella, Manhatta, and Plaza venues are familiar territory.
What deliverables come out of a multi-camera shoot?
Full multi-camera edited program (the headline deliverable), speaker-specific cuts (one full edit per featured speaker), social-cut series (short-form vertical and square cuts optimized for LinkedIn, Instagram, X), audio-only podcast-ready exports if applicable, and raw multi-angle archive footage. Highlight reels and sizzle videos are produced alongside as add-ons.
How long does post-production take?
Standard turnaround is 10–14 business days for the full multi-camera edited program plus speaker cuts. Highlight reels and sizzle videos follow the same timeline. For events with same-week PR or content-distribution deadlines, we offer rush post-production at quoted premium — typical rush turnaround is 5–7 business days.
What's the rate for multi-camera production?
Multi-camera production is quoted as a flat package based on crew size, event length, deliverable scope, and any livestream or rush-post components. Our standard event videography rate ($200–$300/hr) is a starting point for single-camera; multi-camera typically starts at a full-day package level. Send your program details and we will quote within 48 hours.
